Astronauts Peter J. K. "Jeff" Wisoff and Steven L. Smith, mission specialists, perform in-flight maintenance procedures on the flight deck. They are replacing a malfunctioning Payload High Rate Recorder (PHRR) aboard the Space Shuttle Endeavour. Astronauts Wisoff and Smith are joined by four other NASA astronauts aboard the Endeavour in Earth-orbit, in support of the Space Radar Laboratory-2 (SRL-2) mission.
