Astronaut James S. Voss, STS-101 mission specialist, attired in a specially equipped training version of his extravehicular mobility unit (EMU), is about to be lowered into a giant pool for a space walk rehearsal at the Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory (NBL) near JSC. Voss will be part of an EVA team next month when the Space Shuttle Atlantis visits the International Space Station (ISS) in Earth orbit.
