In the town of Baikonur, Kazakhstan, Expedition 60 backup crewmembers Tom Marshburn of NASA (left), Sergey Ryzhikov of Roscosmos (center) and Soichi Noguchi of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (right) greet local school children July 6 near the statue of Yuri Gagarin, the first human to fly in space, during traditional pre-launch activities. They are the backups to Drew Morgan of NASA, Luca Parmitano of the European Space Agency and Alexander Skvortsov of Roscosmos, who will launch July 20 on the Soyuz MS-13 spacecraft from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan for a mission on the International Space Station.
