Astronaut Virgil I. Grissom, 35, prepares for centrifuge tests at the U.S. Navy's center at Johnsville, Pennsylvania during April of this year. These tests were conducted to determine the reactions of the astronaut under similar G conditions he might encounter during a space flight.
