One of two initial U.S. Air Force SR-71A reconnaissance aircraft that were loaned to NASA for high-speed research programs taxis in to the ramp on its arrival at NASA's Ames-Dryden Flight Research Facility, Edwards, California in March 1990. (Later renamed the Dryden Flight Research Center.) Data from the SR-71 high speed research program may be used to aid designers of future supersonic/hypersonic aircraft and propulsion systems.
