This 1976 photo shows the X-24B on the Rogers Dry Lake, adjacent to the NASA Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards, California, with research pilots Einar Enevoldson, John Manke, Richard Scobee, Tom McMurtry, Bill Dana, and Michael Love in front of it. Scobee went on to become an astronaut in NASA’s Space Shuttle program and perished in the explosion of the Space Shuttle orbiter "Challenger" in 1986.
