Inside the Neil Armstrong Operations and Checkout Building high bay at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, a crane is being used to lift the Orion crew module pressure vessel for NASA’s Exploration Mission-1 (EM-1) for transfer to a test stand called the birdcage. Technicians and engineers with Orion manufacturer Lockheed Martin will begin preliminary checkout of the crew module.
